TESTS REQUIRED IN THE BOARDING PROCESS FOR VACCINATED PASSENGERS
During the check-in process, all passengers who are 5 years and older must provide an official negative COVID-19 test, either:

  • By an antigen test carried out not later than 3 days before embarkation for passengers embarking in Southampton, Rome or Barcelona. The antigen test shall be carried out not later than 2 days prior to embarkation if embarking in Athens.
  • A PCR performed no later than 3 days before embarking.

These tests must be certified with a legal laboratory or pharmacy report.

For passengers who have not been able to take their pre-boarding test, at the Athens, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Rome terminals, antigen testing will be available and the cost ($60) will be debited from their onboard account. At the Southampton terminal, there will be no testing for passengers who have not been tested before. However, we recommend that each passenger has been tested beforehand to avoid waiting and crowds.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PASSENGERS WITH 'VACCINATION EXEMPTION'

Before boarding, passengers who have been approved for a 'vaccination exemption' will need to take an official negative PCR medical test no later than 3 days before boarding and show it at check-in.

A mandatory antigen test will be performed at the boarding terminal, and its cost ($60usd) will be charged to your onboard account.

During the cruise, routinary tests will be requested approximately every 4 days at a cost of $10usd, which will be charged to your onboard account.

In the ports of call, depending on the requirements of each one of them, an antigen test may be requested that will be carried out on board at a cost of $10usd, which will be charged to your onboard account. In addition, for passengers aged 18 and over, it will be compulsory to book an excursion from the shipping company to visit the port of call.

The requirements of each country may vary, so we recommend that you check the restrictions of each port.

What happens if I am positive on the day of embarkation or during the cruise?

Passengers who test positive for COVID-19 will not be allowed to board, along with their family members and close contacts, and should not travel to the ship if the test has been carried out before going to the port. In this case, Princess Cruises in its policy of Navigate with Confidence will provide you through your cruise contracting point a voucher for a future cruise for the amount of the contracted cruise.

If you test positive during the cruise, you will need to self-isolate and disembark at the earliest possible port. You will receive a voucher for a future cruise for the amount of the vacation not taken.

Princess will provide support in this process, providing a list of hotels where you can stay and providing you with a contact to arrange return flights. In the event that your travel insurance does not include these coverages, the expenses incurred may be requested from Princess to assess their possible reimbursement.

We strongly recommend taking out insurance that covers the expenses caused by these circumstances.

What happens if I do not present the information required to board?

If boarding is denied for not complying with the requirements expressed in this document, any expenses incurred will be carried out by you and the bonus for a future cruise will not be provided.
